Aesthetic Medicine is a developing clinical subspecialty, primarily based on the use of minimally invasive cosmetic treatments to enhance patient satisfaction with physical appearance. Forecasts for procedures and expenditures indicate that they are expected to continue to increase. The subspecialty of aesthetic medicine is no longer exclusively limited to the fields of plastic surgery and dermatology. Many specialties are increasingly offering aesthetic medical procedures to better accommodate their patients’ needs. As such, it is important that fellows pursuing this subspecialty continue to educate themselves about the latest information and procedures that lead to outcomes in which complications are reduced and patient satisfaction is increased. This educational monograph is designed to improve knowledge and competence about facial aesthetic products and procedures.
