Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), which includes ulcerative colitis (UC) and Crohn’s disease, affects an estimated 3 million adults in the United States. Although numerous therapies are available for the treatment of moderate to severe UC, many patients still suffer poor quality of life and suboptimal outcomes. In this CME Rapid Response activity, expert physicians will discuss the need for new therapies by examining some abstracts that were presented at the 14th Congress of the European Crohn’s and Colitis Organisation in Copenhagen.
