It is estimated that 16.4 million Americans have been diagnosed with dry eye disease (DED), with an estimated 6 million additional cases that have not been formally diagnosed. A recent study has also demonstrated a high incidence of DED in patients with newly diagnosed primary open-angle glaucoma. Furthermore, some medications used for the treatment of glaucoma have been demonstrated to cause or exacerbate DED. In this CME activity, experts in the field will assess the utility of current and emerging therapeutic options for the treatment of DED in patients with glaucoma as well as discuss new medications and minimally invasive glaucoma surgery techniques and procedures that can improve outcomes in patients with glaucoma and ocular surface disorders.
