Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a chronic, often disabling disease that attacks the central nervous system. More than 2.3 million people are affected worldwide. The management of patients with MS is highly complex, and the development of numerous disease-modifying therapies (DMTs) has dramatically altered the treatment paradigm. It is difficult for many clinicians to stay abreast of the latest DMT safety and efficacy data, as well as to synthesize this information to appropriately incorporate these agents into clinical practice. In this CME activity, current treatment guidelines, as well as the safety, efficacy, and utilization of current DMTs, will be discussed.
