Activity Description

This activity will focus on providing an overview regarding best practices around intravitreal injection, as well as latest developments regarding the use of prefilled syringes, including advantages and implementation into clinical practice.

Target Audience

The educational design of this activity addresses the needs of Retina specialists, comprehensive ophthalmologists, retina fellows, and healthcare providers who are interested in applying the most recent advancements in the retinal medicine field.

Educational Objectives

After completing this activity, the participant should be better able to:

  • Identify the best practices around intravitreal injection delivery 
  • Review the advantages and disadvantages of using a prefilled syringe in clinical practice
  • Review the rates of endophthalmitis between those patients treated without a prefilled syringe versus with a prefilled syringe
  • Identify best practices regarding how to implement prefilled syringes into their practice
