Activity Description

"Evidence-Based Approaches to Diagnose, Treat, and Manage Patients With Retinal Diseases" contains clinical trial summaries written by trainees of the Retina Summit for Fellows and Residents that took place on September 18, 2021.


Target Audience

The intended audience for this activity is retina specialists, retina fellows, ophthalmology residents, and other health care professionals involved in the management of patients with retinal disease.


Learning Objectives

Upon successful completion of this activity, participants should be better able to:

  • Describe conventional and new diagnostic modalities that can improve the early detection of retinal diseases.
  • Examine advances in imaging that can improve diagnosis, treatment, and monitoring of retinal disorders.
  • Assess evidence-based medicine and best practices for the medical management of retinal diseases.
  • Analyze the results of key clinical trials relating to the treatment of retinal vascular disorders to assist in clinical decision making.
  • Assess new evidence regarding the use of multimodal therapeutic regimens in the treatment of retinal vascular disorders.
  • Evaluate the evidence and best practices relating to the surgical management of retinal disorders.

How to Participate in This Activity and Obtain CME Credit

To participate in this CME activity, you must read the objectives, answer the polling and pretest questions, view the content, and complete the posttest and evaluation. Provide only one (1) correct answer for each question. A satisfactory score is defined as answering 7 of the 10 posttest questions correctly. Upon receipt of the completed materials, if a satisfactory score on the posttest is achieved, Vindico Medical Education will issue an AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™ certificate.
