Corneal staining stains dead or degenerated corneal epithelial cells due to abrasions, old age, or following inadequate contact lens fit. It also stains tears. Types of staining include fluorescein, Rose Bengal, and Lissamine Green. This CME activity will discuss the role of corneal staining in diagnosing ocular surface disease.
