Ocular surface disease (OSD) encompasses several disorders, including dry eye disease, blepharitis, meibomian gland dysfunction, ocular allergy, and conjunctivitis. Accurate diagnosis of OSD is characteristically challenging, especially because patients may present with more than one concurrent condition with substantial overlap of signs and symptoms. Therefore, OSD is frequently misdiagnosed and subsequently undertreated.
