Currently, dry eye disease is one of the most misdiagnosed diseases and is commonly present in ocular surgery candidates. A thorough dry eye disease evaluation should be considered as part of the preoperative assessment for these patients, and should involve using objective testing, such as osmolarity and MMP-9. This CME activity will discuss the most effective techniques in diagnosing dry eye disease.
