Learning Objectives:

1.    To understand the complexity of the problems experienced by long-term caregivers of individuals with unipolar depression.
2.    To identify how caring over many years affects caregivers of individuals with unipolar depression.
3.    To consider the clinical responsibilities in support of caregivers of individuals with unipolar depression.
4.    Discuss the benefits and limitations of dietary supplements and botanicals for use as adjuncts to antidepressant medications.
5.    Discuss current evidence-based information on specified mind–body practices as adjunctive treatment for depressive symptoms.
6.    To increase health professionals’ awareness of various stigmas surrounding HIV testing, and how they may prevent individuals with HIV from seeking treatment in a timely fashion.
7.    To make health professionals aware of the online forum’s anonymous nature through which they can provide information to individuals with potential HIV, thereby dispelling the taboo against HIV testing, especially among adolescents.
