Anti-VEGF therapy has dramatically improved visual acuity outcomes for patients with wet age-related macular degeneration. Clinicians now must establish the best treatment regimens for their patients, taking into account differences in agents and dosing schedules, and the systemic concerns associated with anti-VEGF therapy. In this activity, Szilard Kiss, MD, reflects on advances in treatment during the anti-VEGF era, the current state of the science and the prospects for emerging therapies.
