Age-related macular degeneration (AMD) is a common eye condition and a leading cause of vision loss among people aged 50 years and older. Diagnosing AMD involves a comprehensive eye examination and a stereoscopic bio-microscopic examination of the macula. Early detection and treatment of AMD will aid in preserving patients’ vision and quality of life. In this activity, leading ophthalmologists will address the impact of progression of AMD, discuss methods to assess visual deficits, and evaluate current and emerging therapies as well as visual aids in managing AMD.
