New advances in intravitreal treatment and monitoring promise to improve the management of many sight-threatening retinal diseases. A wide array of imaging techniques has recently become available, adding greatly to the quality and quantity of diagnostic as well as monitoring data that can be obtained. Recent research has helped to refine and build upon treatment advances achieved through intravitreal therapy with anti-VEGF therapy. Adjustments in dosage frequency and the development of extended delivery systems are helping to reduce treatment burden. In this Intravitreal Interventions publication series, retina specialists detail the latest developments in the diagnosis and treatment of retinal diseases.
