Target Audience: The intended audience for this activity is retina specialists and other healthcare professionals involved in the treatment of patients with retina disorders.
Learning Objectives: At the conclusion of this activity participants should be able to:
- Incorporate new clinical evidence into practice on the use of intravitreal steroid implants in the treatment of retinal disorders to ensure provision of effective therapy to patients with this disease.
- Evaluate the published studies of ranibizumab in the treatment of retinal disease to facilitate the design of optimal therapeutic regimens.
- Review current literature describing the safety of intravitreal bevacizumab and compare its effectiveness with that of other anti-VEGF agents.
- Assess current evidence-based data on the mechanism of action, pharmacokinetics, safety and efficacy of aflibercept in the treatment of retinal disease.
