Research into the management of diabetic eye disease continues to help shape how clinicians are treating their patients. The Diabetic Retinopathy Clinical Research (DRCR) Network has consistently produced some of the most significant research into this area, and most recently presented data comparing the use of panretinal photocoagulation to anti-VEGF therapy for proliferative diabetic retinopathy. Another significant trial last year was the EARLY analysis, a post hoc review of the DRCR Protocol I, which found that patients who do not respond to anti-VEGF therapy after 3 treatments are unlikely to achieve a meaningful response at all. In this activity, leading clinicians will discuss the results from these trials and how they are applying them in the management of their own patients.
