Early detection allowing for subsequent timely personalized therapy of patients with retinal vascular diseases has been significantly advanced with innovations in diagnostic instrumentation and refinement of optimal treatment protocols. Further clinical data assessing diagnostic and therapeutic interventions continue to be published at an accelerated rate resulting in new indications for the use of current therapies in treatment protocols. With such rapid advances in the management of retinal vascular diseases such as diabetic macular edema, diabetic retinopathy, age-related macular degeneration, and retinal vein occlusion, evaluation and optimal incorporation of these advances into clinical practice can be challenging. In this live activity, held in conjunction with the Women in Ophthalmology (WIO) Summer Symposium, experts in the field provide review and guidance for the timely diagnosis, treatment, as well as long-term management of patients presenting with retinal vascular diseases.
