Target Audience: The intended audience for the activity is ophthalmologists, rheumatologists, and other health care professionals involved in the treatment of patients with uveitis.
Learning Objectives: Upon successful completion of this activity, participants should be better able to:
- Review the medical causes of inflammatory eye disorders to be better able to differentially diagnose inflammation-based causes versus those related to infection.
- Differentiate infectious from noninfectious causes of ocular inflammation, redness and pain based on patient presentation and clinical examination, laboratory assays, and imaging, as well as classification criteria.
- Incorporate treatment regimens for ocular inflammatory disorders that are safe, effective, and address the specific requirements of individual patients.
